Maintenance windows
Planned work should not page anyone. A maintenance window pauses alerts. Checks keep running, so you still see when the site went down and when it came back.
Creating a window
On the Maintenance page (or Maintenance on a monitor's page) choose:
- Scope: one target, one client, or the whole account;
- When: now, at a later time, or every week on chosen days at the same local time.
Weekly windows follow your time zone: "every Sunday at 2:00" stays at 2:00 after the clocks change.
During the window
- Checks keep running and are recorded.
- No alerts are sent; an incident that starts is recorded as suppressed.
- The time does not count against uptime or your SLA.
When the window ends
If the target is still down when the window ends, a new incident opens and alerts right away: maintenance that overruns is an outage.
Limits
A one-off window can last at most 14 days, a weekly one at most 24 hours. For anything longer, pause the monitor instead. A pause is visible to everyone on the account.
